This event will take place on Sunday 26th February 2012 at 9.00am and will consist of individuals completing one of three rides. All rides start at Ngamotu Beach and will finish at the same location.
There are three ride options:
Ride 1 - 6 km loop. Start at Ngamotu Beach, up Bayly Road, down St Auybn Street and enter the foreshore walkway opposite Egmont Street before proceeding along the walkway back to Ngamotu Beach
Ride 2 - 11 km loop. This ride follows the same course and the 6km route but continues via Gill Street, Hobson Street and Devon Street before turning left at Nobs Line and onto the foreshore beside the East End Surf Life Saving Club. The course then follows the foreshore walkway back to Ngamotu Beach.
Ride 3 - 16 km loop. This ride follows the same route as the 11 km loop but continues past Nobs Line and onto Clemow Road before entering the walkway at the Waiwakaiho river mouth. It then proceeds along the walkway to Ngamotu Beach.
Marshals will be on duty during the ride. St Johns will be in attendance at Ngamotu Beach before and after the ride, and at various places along the course itself.
Drink stops will be at East End and opposite the Egmont Street access walkway by the Wind Wand.
Will commence at Ngamotu Beach at 11.30am. To win a prize participants must be present to be eligible.
At 10.30am there will be some pre-prizegiving activities including BBQ food and drinks for sale, the Harvey Norman Big-Dig, IRB rides with Fitzroy Surf Lifesaving Club. Prizes also include family passes to Taranaki Rugby home games.
Ride information and ride numbers must be collected from Mitchell Cycles on Wednesday 22nd February from 9.00am to 6.00pm. A free bike and helmet check is also available during this time. Registration includes a gold coin donation per person. late entries will be accepted on the day at Ngamotu Beach from 7.30am to 8.30am.
